How to Stop Overthinking and Manifest with Confidence

1st thought blog image

A friendly reminder: Energy flows where focus goes. If you have a dream and it lights you up—focus there and not on the second thought.

😃✨😍 The first thought is the dream! 😃✨😍
This is the idea that excites you—the download from Spirit that Elizabeth Gilbert talks about in Big Magic. It’s the inspiration that makes both your human and spiritual self light up, aligning with your soul and life purposes with your divine essence.

👎 The second thought, however, is usually the one that tells you:
😕 You're not good enough.
😔 You don't deserve it.
😩 You don't have the resources to make it happen.
🙄 Who are you to think you can pull that off?
🤷🏻‍♀️ How are you going to make that happen?

The second thought invites you to abandon not only your dream but also yourself. And we do this over and over again, robbing ourselves of joy, potential, and the loving flow of aligned energy that could uplift not just us, but the collective.

If we are always manifesting—whether consciously or unconsciously—then we must shift toward intentionally creating what we truly desire. Through our fears, worries, and doubts, we often manifest the very things we don’t want. Instead, let’s direct our energy toward being conscious, deliberate co-creators of the change we wish to see in the world.

The more we abandon ourselves, the more we reinforce that pattern of self-abandonment and collective abandonment in our relationships, communities, our country, and the collective.

No wonder so many feel taken advantage of, let down, abandoned, and conditioned to dismiss their own desires.

And no wonder people are yearning for more kindness—both from others and within themselves.

Let’s start by being kind to ourselves first.

Here’s how:

1. Relish in the first thought.

Write down your dream. Yes, put pen to paper (not on your phone or tablet or computer - PAPER). Describe your vision and how it will expand. What could you do with it? Who could it support? How might it bring more time, energy, and money into your life? How would that improve your quality of life? Write it all down—the dream and the ripple effects of it coming true.

2. Acknowledge the second thought.

When the second thought—the IBSC (itty-bitty sh*tty committee)—starts its chatter, don’t push it away—don't abandon yourself. You are safe in doing this and hold space for yourself as you do. Write down all the doubts and fears that come up. Allow yourself to process all of this. What we resist persists, so shine a light on them.

3. Ask yourself: Who is really talking?

Are these thoughts truly yours? Or were they conditioned into you—by society, family, past experiences? Where did they come from? When did you start believing them? Are they still true for you? Were they ever really true? If not, what is your truth? What belief would serve and empower you instead?

4. Forgive and release.

Forgive yourself and whoever planted those doubts. If you can’t pinpoint the source or it’s too painful to revisit, simply bless the thoughts and those involved. Try this mantra:

I bless all of this with love and thank them for the lessons they provided. I forgive myself for holding onto these ideas beyond their service to me. I now choose to release them with love, making space in my heart and energy for my dreams to manifest and flow in.

For a ritual, write your second thoughts down, count them, and save that number for later. Then write the mantra, and—safely—burn the paper to release them.

5. Replace the doubts with your REAL truths and REAL beliefs.

Remember the number of limiting thoughts you wrote down? Now, write the same number of reasons why your dream can happen. Even at the slowest pace, how will it benefit you and others? How will each step of the journey feel? How will you celebrate as it manifests? Infuse your dream with joy, love, and abundance.

6. Keep your dream visible.

Post your dream, truths, and intentions somewhere you’ll see them daily—on your bathroom mirror, beside your bed, on your fridge, or at your workspace. Keep them in a space where they will constantly remind you of your worthiness and the path you're creating. Make them part of your morning ritual. Remind yourself that you are worthy, capable, and that Spirit chose you to bring this dream into being for a reason.

Your dreams were given to you for a reason. Trust them, nurture them, and take the next step toward bringing them to life.
